Fourteen three-year-olds will take to the barriers at Doomben on Saturday for the running of the 2016 Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1630m); offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several opportunities to place a winning wager.
Too Good To Refuse carries winning form into the race and remains outright $4.60 favourite in 2016 Gunsynd Classic betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Cylinder Beach ($5) and interstate raider Tap This ($6.50).
Will Too Good To Refuse continue his winning run of form through the 2016 Gunsynd Classic or will one of his many class rivals claim an upset?
Tap This ($6.50)
Tap This opened at 2016 Gunsynd Classic odds of $7.50, but has continued to herald the great share of bets for success on Saturday and figures as clear market mover at her current quote as a result. Posting a number of commendable results through the 2015 Spring Carnival, Tap This resumed this time for an impressive win in a Wyong sprint over 1200m on March 30th. While unlucky to be blocked for a run and eighth in the Group 3 JB Carr Stakes (1400m) a fortnight ago, Tap This has been charged with carrying only 55kgs in the Gunsynd Classic and will leave from the ideal barrier 2 with in-form hoop Blake Spriggs in the saddle.
Cylinder Beach ($5)
Cylinder Beach is yet to appear on course in 2016 but is without doubt one of the classier runners of the Gunsynd Classic field and represents terrific value at current odds. A standout through last year’s edition of the Brisbane Winter Carnival, the Showcasing gelding finished fifth in the Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m); progressing to third in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) before placing an impressive fourth in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m). resumed in spring for third in the Bowermans Furniture BM70 (1400m), Cylinder Beach has not been seen at the races since winning the James Boag’s Premium Plate (1640m) by more than seven lengths on November 3rd.
Dawnie Perfect ($14)
Dawnie Perfect is another runner who will relish a step back in class for the 2016 Gunsynd Classic and arguably offers punters the best value for money of all runners at $14 for success or $4.30 to finish in the first three. A standout for Clarry Conners through spring, the Big Brown filly won the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) and finished fourth in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) most notably. Local rider Jim Byrne takes the ride in the Gunsynd Classic from the central barrier 7.
